Lawsuit Prompted by Death from E. Coli Contamination

The family of a man who died in 2010 from eating meat contaminated with E. Coli has filed a lawsuit against three beef companies and a group of retailers who may have sold the meat.

The deceased, a 62 year old man with Down syndrome, allegedly ate ground beef that was linked, along with mechanically tenderized steaks, to an E. coli outbreak that sickened 25 people in 17 states. The suit claims negligence on behalf of all of the defendants resulting in the man’s death.

Sad story.
