Chrysler will recall 250,000 Ram trucks due to problems in the steering system. Federal officials said a part near the left front wheel can fracture and potentially cause car accidents. The recall covers Ram model years 2008 to 2011. Most of the fractures are occurring while turning at low rates of speed.
There is no date for the start of the recall which always, but Chrysler dealers will inspect the affected vehicles and replace the left tie rod as needed for free. Owners can call Chrysler/Dodge at 800-853-1403 or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration at 800-327-4236.
